public_html/administrator/modules/mod_menu/tmpl/default_submenu.php

Background:
I'm getting server error when trying to access extension Widgetkit in the backend. So I turned to YOOtheme and they told me to turn to my host. My host hasn't found out what's wrong but says
public_html/administrator/modules/mod_menu/tmpl/default_submenu.php
is the file "being read" right before the error message.

SInce I don't have a clue what this file is doing , I'm unable to give feedback to my host. Would so much appreciate your opinion

Joomla 3.9
PHP: 7.1.24
Widgetkit 2.9.20
